Talk Like A Pirate? The Jade Dragon’s Crew is Afoot!

Calling all Pirates!

Me Hearties, it’s “Talk Like a Pirate Day” at Fort Langley from 11AM to 5PM on September 12th, and then the evening begins for the older pirates among ye…

And a hearty greeting to our readers of piratical inclination! Should you be willing, the Crew of the Jade Dragon, notorious scallywags that they are, have left the Village of Steller’s Grove to attack the fort at Ft. Langley!

The word is, the Crew, finding themselves hard-pressed for a bit of Pirate Fun, have settled on an invasion of the Fort to gather supplies, wenches, and cause a bit of havoc on September 12, 2009. Should you be so inclined, be ready to surprise the Crew upon their landing at 11:00 AM, and watch the drama unfold! Unfortunately, the fort knows little about dark plan, and it is feared that they will be ill prepared for the likes of the Crew of the Jade Dragon.

As Pirates will, they’re anticipating a large gathering of the local citizens to witness their antics, and participate in a day of revelry in the village of Ft. Langley. The Crew me thinks, are hoping to take a day of shore leave. They’ll be leading the folks over the bridge, and into the Fort, After entry into the Fort via the beach at the Fort’s campground, and provided they’re not repelled by the fierce Traders of the Fort, they’ll negotiate a truce for the day.

Events of the Day

Tours, Stories at the Library, Shopping, and Celebration

And what a “truce” they’ve planned…be prepared one and all as ye bring your families to the Fort for a day of fun and games.

You’ll find the crew spread out among the town to meet and greet, read stories at the library to the young, assist with audio supported tours in Cemetery. Not to be missed will be Captain Charity stationed outside the Train Station! She’ll be there with First Mate and Quartermaster handing out deserved awards…and how might you get one of these “awards” you might ask? ‘Tis a series of tests, and you’ll be schooled properly on how to succeed upon your arrival, no doubt.

Victuals and Ale, and of course, the Finest Wines

Should you be hungry, the Country Fair Bistro will be the host to a hearty wine tasting and some pirate ale, called “Dead Frog”? You’ll have to be brave souls to indulge in that ale, but the quality wines of the Fort Winery are well known throughout the area, and it’s not an event to be missed!

An Evening of Shanties and Lively Speech at the Pub

Evening entertainment will find the Pirate Crew at the Fort Neighbourhood Pub for song, drink and revelry. Bring your singing voice, sharpen your cutlass, and be prepared to Talk Like a Pirate, as we all know the Crew of the Jade Dragon, and I’ll say no more about that!

UPDATE: You’ll be able to see Captain Charity and members of the Jade Dragon Crew at the Portland Pirate Festival On September 19th, International “Talk Like a Pirate Day”
